Buescher Relegated to 22nd-Place Finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Buescher Relegated to 22nd-Place Finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

NASCAR Nationwide Series - Sta-Green 200
July 12, 2014 - New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Visiting the New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the first time since 2011, James Buescher and the RAB Racing No. 99 Rheem Toyota team started in the 17th position. When the 40-car field took the green for the Sta-Green 200, Buescher jumped up into inside the top-15. In the early portion of the Sta-Green 200, James was reporting a loose-handling condition. As the race wore on, the handling on the Rheem Camry changed to tight around the one-mile speedway. The leader was setting a feverish pace and caught the RAB Racing team a lap down. It was just past the half way point of the 200-lap race , a restart bunched the field up. On the restart, an incident ahead of the Texas native collected Buescher and the Rheem machine. Buescher received slight damage to the No. 99 Toyota Camry that forced him down pit road for repairs. After making a pit stop to repair the damage to the nose of the Rheem Camry, Buescher rejoined the field in the 19th position, one lap down. On lap 141, the No. 99 RAB Racing team opted not to pit and take the wave around to put them back on the and was back on the lead lap. Running just outside the top-15, In 16th, Buescher went to work and climbed all the way up to 12th position. With three laps to go, the No. 99 Rheem team came up just shy on fuel and relegated Buescher to 22nd position, three laps down.

Really unfortunate that we ran out of fuel at the end of the race. It was looking like we were going to rebound nicely after getting caught up in that accident and get a decent finish for Rheem and my RAB Racing team. Time to move on to Chicago and try to secure a top-10 for everyone involved. - James Buescher
